The Sergey Krutov medical-technical laboratory has been engaged in the development of physical therapy instruments for ophthalmologic applications for more than 33 years. During these years, the laboratory has accumulated vast experience in producing highly effective diagnostic and therapeutic solutions, using the unique ideas of the outstanding ophthalmologists and the latest achievements of the computer engineering and electronic technology.
 
With contemporary knowledge in the field of physiology, psychophysiology of sight and clinical ophthalmology on the one hand, and the latest achievements of the computer technologies and industrial methods of maintenance support on another, the LAMETESK Laboratory in collaboration with the leading ophthalmologists of the different countries was able to develop highly effective virtual medical diagnostic and therapeutic Internet-based software solutions.
 
The latter fact was used for developing diagnostic and physiotherapeutic software solutions and medical appliances designed not only for clinical applications, but also for personal computer-based diagnostic and therapeutic systems, which can be operated remotely by means of the prescription files sent to the remote patients from the medical facility where they are receiving treatment, through the INTERNET.
 
It should be emphasized that personal diagnostic and therapeutic systems can be operated only using the prescription files obtained from the doctor in attendance and they do not allow the unauthorised change of their parameters in case the patient wants to administer a "self-treatment". This feature enables the doctor to provide diagnostic and physical therapy care to his or her remote patients wherever they are located, and at the highest clinical level.
 
Virtual medical software solutions are a novel concept of the present-day medicine. There is currently no conventional medical appliance that can outperform the virtual ones. The user of such virtual devices can possess a multipurpose peripheral device, which performs certain medical tasks, and the operational algorithm of this device will be defined by the special software, which can be updated at any time following the changes in the operational conditions.
 
The future belongs to the virtual medical-purpose devices!  
 
All virtual devices are developed in program "LabView " of firm "National Instruments"

A virtual ophthalmologic computer-based online clinic VCKprof and VCKuser is the computer-based system comprising different diagnostic and physiotherapeutic virtual devices. This system can be regarded as the optimum collection of the diagnostic and therapeutic instruments, designed for the highly effective treatment of a number of severe ophthalmologic conditions.

STRUCTURE OF THE SYSTEM

 The system comprises two types of diagnostic and therapeutic software programs:
 
1. Passive diagnostic and therapeutic programs intended for arranging simple diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive procedures   
                    which use the computer display as an active constituent and additional equipment is not required.
 
2.  Active  diagnostic and therapeutic programs intended for arranging complex diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive procedures
                   which require additional hardware and instrumental equipment.
 
The system incorporates 8 diagnostic and 8 therapeutic virtual devices. 
Diagnostic and therapeutic systems VCKprof and VCKuser allow to diagnose a condition and to perform supporting or stimulating therapy using the methods:
